banks of the wabash

I wish I could be cool and greet everyone in another language. You know, something aside from the usual "Bonjour!" or "Hola!" The problem with this is that I mostly know goodbyes rather than greetings, and the coolest greeting I ever learned didn't really stick with me; all I remember is that some short greeting in Korean sounds a lot like "Onion."

So onion, chickadees!

I'm Jenny (Or Quaggy, if you prefer.), your friendly neighborhood post-hippie. This is my first time blogging, technically. (As in, on an actual blog. Hah.) Here you'll be able to eventually find a number of things. I'll be using this place to post sketches and artwork, photography, poetry and short stories, and little snippets about my life. I'll make artist, author, band, and website recommendations a lot, and every time I find something panineato or nifty, you can be sure to find it here.

I'm a girl, of course, and I play on the side of the fence that doesn't have balls. (Which makes the game a lot less painful and a lot more complicated.) I have a rat named Parsley, a cat named Little Boy, and a Tamagotchi shaped like a teapot named Navy. Chai is obviously the most incredible beverage ever invented (Thank you, India.) and Thai food is top shelf for sure. I like anteaters because they have long tongues, giraffes because theirs are purple, crocodiles because they can't stick them out, chameleons because theirs are sticky, and possums because theirs are relatively normal and unimpressive. Dresses with pockets, ponchos, wacky socks, and huge sweaters with large buttons are fabulous. I like to fiddle with magnetic poetry and do newspaper crossword puzzles, and I'm really big on things like book alteration.

My favourite artists are Brian Dettmer, Yeondoo Jung, Hyunkoo Lee, Chris Sanders, and Arica Houy. I love citrus colour schemes and smells, and I wish a fuzzy monster lived under my bed.

I guess that's it for my first post! I've been preparing some sketches and artwork for this thing, so I'll see about posting some of that up in the next few days.

Peace out, peaches.
